3rd Santa Maria Cheia de Graça: Mercosul Saloon of Humor

Participation:
Professional or amateur artists are allowed to participate of the Santa Maria Cheia de Graça contest, since they submit original works attached to the registration form. Each participante is allowed to compete in one or two categories with two works top. The theme is free.
Categories:
- Caricature
- Comical cartoon
- Cartoon
- Comic strips.
- HQ
Registration:
The registration period ranges from May 7th to August 7th 2007 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at
“Chili Comunicação e Cultura” at 457 Do Acampamento street,
room 302, Krebs Gallery, Cep 97050-003, Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The works must be at the previously mentioned place up to August 7th 2007. The mail date will not be taken into consideration.
The works must be sent in sealed envelopes throught the mail service. On the back of the envelope, all the following information must be written: Full name, address, category and title of the work. Each work must be sent with a registration form, which can be original or photocopied. Works printed by a computer will be accepted as original ones. The shape of the works must be 30cm x 42cm, colored or black and white. .The HQ must consit of 3 pages top (30cm x 42cm). The organizing committee is not responsible for works damaged during the transportation.
Selection and Jury
The selection of the works will be done by a comission consisting of 3, up to 5, professionals of the field, chosen by the the organizing committee and the selected works will be part of the exhibition. The jury responsible for awarding the works will consist of 3, up to 5, well known humor designers. The jury has the right of not awarding in some of the categories.
Prizes.
The organizing committee offers the following prizes:
Special prize R$ 2.500,00
1st Prize – Category – Caricature. R$ 2.500,00
1st Prize – Category – Comical cartoon R$ 2.500,00
1st Prize – Category – Cartoon R$ 2.500,00
1st Prize – Category – Comic Strips R$ 2.500,00
1st Prize – Category – HQ R$ 2.500,00
The special prize will be given to one of the awarded works in one of the five categories. The awarded works will be part of the Sanata Maria Cheia de Graça collection and also all the copyright
Return of the works.
All works will be returned to their authors since they go to “Chili Comunicação e Cultura” in 30 days after the selection period. Those artists who do not live in Santa Maria and wish to have their works back, must send a stamped envelope attached to the registration form containing all the necessary data to have them delivered. The organizing committee is not responsible for the works when they are mailed. Works not taken will belong to the organizers.
General considerations.
The selected works cannot be taken or altered during any of the stages, until the saloon is over. Members of the organizing committee and of the jury are not allowed to participate of the saloon. None of the works have any kind of insurance. Cases not mentioned here will be solved by the organizing committee. The results of the saloon are not subjected to any kind of complaint.
