Wanted: cartoonists to participate in the cartoon contest
with the theme:
Every drop of water matters!

How to participate?
Surf to http://www.cartoons-cultuursmakers.be and send us your entry no later than July 31st,
2025. The award ceremony will take place in the spring of 2026, after which the 30 best
cartoons will travel around for a year in an expo through Flanders and Brussels.

Cultuursmakers is a socio-cultural association in Flanders (northern state of Belgium) and Brussels.
The association consists of groups of volunteers who organize high-quality and varied cultural
activities. Our mission: to bring people and culture closer together.


Water is an essential but vulnerable resource that is under pressure worldwide due to climate change, population growth and rising demand. Water scarcity is affecting more and more regions and threatens ecosystems, agriculture and human livelihoods. Only 3 % of all water on earth is freshwater, most of which is not immediately available. The unequal distribution of water is exacerbated by human activities and the climate crisis, leading to droughts, floods and pollution. Our water footprint is large, and conscious water consumption is necessary to combat scarcity. Together we can contribute to a more sustainable water distribution. Alone we are a drop, together we form a river.

Cartoons can be submitted via this website with a maximum of 5 cartoons per participant.

Participation is free.
The deadline for submitting cartoons is July 31st 2025.
Anyone aged 18 and over can participate in this international contest.
Participants declare that they agree with the terms and conditions of the contest, and the jury’s decisions.
Each entrant may submit a maximum of 5 entries (color or black and white) in A4 format.
All drawings must be submitted digitally in sufficiently high quality: A4 600 dpi with a maximum size of 8 MB.
Accepted file formats are jpg, png, psd, eps and pdf.
