Climatic catastrophes, famine regions and a global flood of refugees are not a matter of a force majeure. They are essentially caused by human beings, their way of live and handling the world.
MISEREOR and the Archdiocese of Bamberg are going to point the finger at everybody in our society to make sure that everybody’s lifestyle has an effect on the whole world and is able to cause a long lasting improvement.
Therefor we are going to organize an exhibition of caricatures making everyone think about changing style of life.
We’ve already succeeded in such projects before. Our projects concerning cartoons “Africa and Europe”. “Death and the process of mourning”, “Church for everyone” are still running and even these catalogues have been really successful.
That’s why I’m kindly asking for your support. We are looking forward to your art work.
Caricatures becoming part of the exhibition are paid by an adequate fee. In case of sketches not being published so far there will be an extraordinary payment.
Topics to be mentioned as following:
Frenzy of consumerism without thinking about consequences
Tokenism instead of changes of lifestyle
Ignorance of mutual global structures
What do I really need to live?
Already perceptible consequences of climate change
Production methods of consumer products in the southern hemisphere
Half-Heartedness and self-interest of policy (e.g. Free Trade Agreement at the expense of so-called partners)
Land grabbing
Permanent run affecting energy and resources
If you are interested in these themes, we’d like you to send your art work digitally to michael.kleiner@erzbistum-bamberg.de, mail to Michael Kleiner, Referat Weltkirche, Heinrichsdamm 32, 96049 Bamberg, Germany. Date of conclusion: 15th of December 2014.
The exhibition including a catalogue will be presented end of February 2015. We are grateful for your support to a successful exhibition.
With the best regards
