Opening of the fourth edition of the International Salon of Caricature in Braila was held Saturday, December 5, the Youth House. At this year attended by 234 of cartoonist from 44 countries, with about 800 works. President of the jury was art critic Tudor Octavian, who juried with caricaturiştii Constantin Ciosu, Leonte Nastase, Ion Barbu and Costel Pătrăşcan. "This exhibition, regardless of what may appear now, because of the election campaign due to crisis of circumstances, marked some milestones in the history of the city, the Romanian culture. Currently, the city of Braila in Romania is only announcing every year some "Shouts" cultural national interest. I think this festival came to a caricature of editions already gives direction for continuity, "said Tudor Octavian.
The winner of this year's Grand Prix of the Salon International Caricature, worth 1500 euros, was Stephen Despodov of Bulgaria. Prize, worth 1,000 euros, was won by Paul Botezatu Galati, Prize II, 800 euros, went to Russia Vladimir Mochalov and III prize of 500 euros, was obtained by Ahmet Aykanat, Turkey. Also were awarded three special prizes of 300 euros each, cartoonist Antonio Garcia, of Mexico, Yury Kosobukin in Ukraine and Cristian Topan, in Romania.
Also, the catalog was released and the fourth edition of the salon, which includes a selection of the most valuable works in the contest.
International Salon of Caricature is organized Braila County Council and the Center for Creative.
Braila County Council President, George Bunea Stancu, Tudor Octavian handed a diploma of excellence "for the fulfillment of a beautiful age" and offered an endorsement of the county. "We consider it a good son of Braila, one man wrote of Braila, who was with us in every edition," Stancu said.
